Graywolf updates the server on new changes
Graywolf updated the server on a great many topics of recent discussion on Monday. Most importantly his first matter of subject, the Builder rank and new changes he is applying to that rank. He says for a very long time, staff has only appointed Builders individually. He says this is unsustainable especially bearing in mind a growing backlog plus expected projects in the future. In his release he wrote that he has a remedy for this, and that will mean changes to the structure of that particular rank, and adding structure and organization to the builder team, saying quote "Having a structure to the builder allows us to have a framework to support more than just three or four builders, increasing the efficiency of the team as a whole instead of being completely disorganized"
He goes on to introduce a new rank in the builder team, the architect, saying the architect is not necessarily better than other builders, but holds a degree of seniority. He says the architects will provide direction to other builders, and advise builders on how best to approach a task in case trouble arises - much like a manager of the building team.
He also continued to say that all the current builders will become architects, and they will then be in charge of appointing new builders. He says the reason for this is he feels it's better the builders work closer with the architects, and the architests choose those they work with best. He hopes a few new builders will be added over the next few months.
He then branched off to the subject of events. He says now anybody on either moderation or creative staff can now suggest and administer their own events and contests. He says they will try this system out, and if it shows to be a success they will get rid of the Event Co-ordinator rank. He also clarified that the Emcee rank is not going to be eliminated, and that Emcee is not the same as Event Co-ordinator.
He also covered the subject of donations, asking for public comment on the possibility of new donator ranks and benefits. He says the server is in good financial standing, and he wants to avoid become what he calls a "pay to win" style server - meaning he wants to balance donations with the existing freeness of Craftyn. He closed by saying he will be adding donation ranks for longer than two months, but due to life delays this will only come after June.

Obligatory Fun Begins 6 Day Run
Monday was also the day that cartoonist Jiloacom began a 6 day comic run dubbed "Obligatory Fun", part of the successful Garrys-Craft series of comics. The plot is mainly revolving around the shenanigans of diabolical server staff office manager Kazeen, who thrives off the suffering of his staff members in order to make profit. Read the comic on the dedicated forums thread and see for yourself!
Large Scale Grief in Robinwood
The City of Robinwood, part of Cezaro has been extensively damaged by griefing of public plots. The griefs mostly consisted of broken roads, new block placements, damaged public buildings and most prominently the removal of an entire eye from the large statue of former Cezaro Queen Bandman. King Cool did have comment, and he said he is very upset by this, as "Robinwood is very sacred to me" and considers it a great insult to the city and nation. A ticket has been made and it is expected to be rolled back shortly.
It's not certain who committed these, whether a lone wolf or a group of people, but several signs were placed, possibly by the perpetrator, claiming it to be "from JORDYthePOOH." However it could not be confirmed by 540News for certain who is really behind it.

Craftyn Community Appreciation Awards
Today is the 2nd last day you can nominate someone for the Craftyn Community Appreciation Awards - an award program introduced just last Tuesday by Emcee Elligantly.
The CCAAs was introduced Tuesday and is an award meant to recognize all the "loyal players on Craftyn who've gone above and beyond to help make the server a better place to be", according to Ellie in her post. Server staff will be handing out their own awards to players, but players may also nominate someone to receive an award during a yet to be announced and "very prestigious" event.
Ellie stressed that this award is to recognize people who go out of their way to make the Craftyn community itself better but players would also have the opportunity to hand out their own personal awards to people who have helped their town or nation. For this personal award people can message Stormyfox and Ellie in one conversation with the people they would like to award along with a few words about it.
For the official CCAA award nominations, players should submit the following on the forums thread linked on our website, 540News.weebly.com under the server news section.
- Name of the nominee
- At least a few sentences about why they are being nominated.
She also emphasized in her post that players cannot nominate themselves or official Craftyn staff, other than Press members, excluding Travelgurl, and Tyros. Tyros, however, can only be nominated for non-tyro work. She did also say that people can nominate staff members for their own personal awards.
Open nominations close June 1st.

Craftyn Capers Revival
Friday was when cartoonist Holy_Shitake re-introduced his comic, Craftyn Capers which he stopped abruptly in January, and only posted one hand drawn page in mid April. Today he released a new page, using newly mastered drawing software. Already the comments are coming in with people telling him how much better the new style of drawing is.
Holy_Shitake tells 540News that he revived the series because he is not particularly busy for the time being, so would be able to do it for a while. He also said he's hoping to do it weekly. For some who may not recall, Craftyn Capers is a comic series based off fictional adventures of Craftyn on a crackpack modded server. He tells us that it is not because of the release of Obligatory Fun, and it is coincidental that he revived it at this time.
